The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gambatesa fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Balmuda slaps away a takedown attempt from Gambatesa, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Gambatesa thows a body shot but no joy.
Balmuda tries to clinch up but Gambatesa circles away and keeps his distance.
Balmuda is looking to clinch.
Gambatesa fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Balmuda avoids it really well and circles away.

Balmuda breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gambatesa looks for a takedown but Balmuda sprawls well.
Balmuda doesn't manage to clinch there - Gambatesa circles away.

Gambatesa shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Balmuda as he jumps to the side.

Gambatesa shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Balmuda is trying to defend but Gambatesa finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Gambatesa looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Balmuda is trying to stand.

Gambatesa is taking a breather. Balmuda says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Balmuda is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Balmuda counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Gambatesa wants to get back to striking at distance but Balmuda won't allow it.
Gambatesa jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Balmuda walks away with a smile on his face. Gambatesa gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gambatesa closes the distance and clinches up with Balmuda, looking for a takedown. Gambatesa pushes Balmuda against the cage but Balmuda circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Balmuda tries to clinch up.
Gambatesa goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Gambatesa has taken the fight to the clinch.

Balmuda's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nice sprawl there from Balmuda as Gambatesa shoots in.
Horrible takedown by Gambatesa or perhaps it was just good defense by Balmuda which made him look bad.

Balmuda avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gambatesa looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Gambatesa tries to close the distance and clinch but Balmuda swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Zeuss Balmuda will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Balmuda has Gambatesa pressed against the cage, preventing Gambatesa from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Gambatesa tries to pull guard but Balmuda holds him up against the cage and eventually Gambatesa drops back down to his feet.
Gambatesa is trying to drag Balmuda to the mat but Balmuda just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Balmuda breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gambatesa keeps the fight on the outside.
Gambatesa lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like Zeuss Balmuda has been cut.

and Gambatesa counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Gambatesa throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Balmuda colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Gambatesa as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Balmuda is left battered and dazed whilst Gambatesa and his camp cheer!
