The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newheart misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bumfight scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Newheart throws a head kick but Bumfight moves out of range.
Kyle Newheart seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bumfight closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bumfight lands in his opponent's guard.
Bumfight stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Newheart swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bumfight drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Newheart manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bumfight has Newheart in his guard.
Bumfight bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Newheart's guard.
Newheart has a closed guard, preventing Bumfight from standing up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Newheart is on top in guard.

Bumfight throws his legs up looking for a submission but Newheart uses it to pass to side control.

Newheart has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Bumfight is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Newheart yanks on the arm and Bumfight is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Newheart.
