Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Romko Law (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and rick johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Law misses.
Law has a takedown stuffed.
johnson doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Law counters with a shoot takedown. johnson fights it but they end up in guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Law's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

It looks like rick johnson has been cut.
Law postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Law working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Law has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

johnson controls Law momentarily but Law frees himself.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
johnson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Law!
johnson trying to control but Law is having none of it.

johnson is working for a guillotine from mount but Law frees his head quite easily.

johnson is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Law has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Law!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
johnson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Law's guard.
johnson wants to stand and escape but instead Law has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

johnson has his foot on Law's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Law works his way back into a safe position though.
johnson looks gassed!
Law postures up and lands a big shot to johnson's brow.
Law wants to control from the top but johnson keeps moving.
Law lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Law passes johnson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Law throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Law drops an elbow to the side of johnson's head.
Law slips a nice elbow through johnson's hands, connecting with johnson's forehead.

That has opened up rick johnson's cut even more.

The cut above rick johnson's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Law accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

johnson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

so Law counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
johnson looking for a sweep. Not yet johnson, not yet.

Law drops back looking for a leg! johnson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and johnson manages to kick Law off! Law jumps back into johnson's guard.
Law trying to control the position from guard on top but johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

johnson is looking for a triangle here but Law uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Law connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused johnson some visible discomfort.
Law landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.

Law is chipping away with strikes.

rick johnson's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at rick johnson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
