Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Memphis Aleist!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marcus Karlsson!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Ivan Kurochkin and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aleist fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Karlsson sprawls well initially but Aleist persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Karlsson wants to improve his position but Aleist is controlling well.
Aleist not doing much here.
Aleist thows a huge punch but Karlsson dodges it nicely.
Karlsson pushes Aleist off looking to stand but Aleist dives back in and keeps control.
Aleist takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Karlsson is pressing down on Aleist's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Aleist is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Karlsson wants to stand but Aleist is controlling the position.
Aleist will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Karlsson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Karlsson throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Karlsson has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Aleist off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Aleist lands with a straight right. Karlsson didn't see that one coming.

Aleist scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Karlsson manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Aleist misses with a jab, cross combination.
Aleist fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Karlsson.
Aleist misses with a takedown attempt - Karlsson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Aleist looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Aleist is breathing heavily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Aleist wants to pass the guard but Karlsson is keeping the position.
Karlsson keeping moving, preventing Aleist from controlling successfully.

Karlsson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Karlsson pushes Aleist off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Aleist misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Aleist lands a nice looking body kick.
Karlsson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Aleist counters with a right hand to the body.

Aleist drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Aleist stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Aleist shoots in but no luck this time.
Karlsson shoots in for a takedown but Aleist shows good takedown defense.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Aleist.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Memphis Aleist. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Aleist wants to clinch.
Karlsson closes the distance but Aleist moves to the side
and Aleist counters with a nice body kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Karlsson.
Aleist regains half guard.
Karlsson prevents Aleist from standing back up.
Karlsson content to control rather than advance.
Karlsson passes the guard and advances to mount!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Aleist tries to lock up and control but Karlsson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Memphis Aleist dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Karlsson moves into the clinch successfully.

Karlsson wants the takedown. Aleist is fighting it off but Karlsson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Aleist's guard against the cage.
Karlsson wants to pass the guard but Aleist is keeping the position.

Karlsson stands up and waves to Aleist to follow him.
Karlsson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Aleist circles away.

Aleist looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Karlsson!
Memphis Aleist overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Aleist working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Aleist punching from mount but Karlsson doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Karlsson is squirming around, avoiding Aleist's attempts to control the action.
Aleist looking to ground and pound but Karlsson is blocking nicely.
Aleist throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Karlsson throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Karlsson sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Aleist not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Karlsson wants to control but Aleist is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Karlsson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Aleist's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Aleist's back!
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Karlsson missing with punches from the back.
You can see the frustration on Aleist's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Karlsson tries to keep control of the position but Aleist is staying busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Aleist is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Karlsson.
Aleist is trying to get back to his feet but Karlsson has full control of the position and if anything, Aleist has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Aleist just trying to survive but Karlsson is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Karlsson is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Aleist has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Karlsson is cranking Aleist's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Aleist! He's tightened the choke and Aleist is tapping out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Marcus Karlsson!
