And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jeff Boomhauer!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santiago is looking to clinch but Boomhauer is avoiding it.
Boomhauer stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Santiago tries to clinch up but Boomhauer circles away and keeps his distance.
Boomhauer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Santiago drops his hands momentarily and Boomhauer takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Boomhauer circles away from the clinch attempt.
Santiago is looking to clinch.
Boomhauer swats away the attempt to clinch by Santiago.
Boomhauer throws a right and a left that both miss.
Boomhauer scores with a hook.
Boomhauer fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Santiago tries to clinch but Boomhauer is having none of it.
Santiago doesn't manage to clinch there - Boomhauer circles away.

Boomhauer looks to land a combination. Santiago sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Santiago missing with a left hand there. Boomhauer was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Santiago fails in his attempt to clinch.
Boomhauer throws a hook but Santiago blocks it.
Santiago wants to clinch.
Boomhauer swats away the attempt to clinch by Santiago.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Boomhauer, right into the meat.
Santiago takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Boomhauer fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Boomhauer drops Santiago with a beautiful combination! Santiago stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Boomhauer is looking for the KO!

Santiago is rocked!
BOOM! Boomhauer lands a beautiful left hook that drops Santiago. Santiago tries to recover but Boomhauer is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Santiago lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
