The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
north throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Maximus tries for a takedown but north sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Maximus looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Nice takedown defense from north. No joy for Maximus on that attempt.
Maximus misses with a series of wild punches.
north fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A solid body kick from north.
Arilius Maximus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and north counters with a shoot takedown. Maximus fights it but they end up in guard.
north throwing strikes from guard but Maximus blocks nicely.
north looking to pass the guard.

north drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and north jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
north tries to free his leg and advance position but Maximus is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maximus preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

north drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says north as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Maximus screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with north! Nice submission victory there!
