Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Iokua Mikala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wandell Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griffin has chosen The Original Techno Viking as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Mikala checks the leg kick nicely there.
Griffin's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Griffin duly obliges.

It looks like Iokua Mikala has been cut.
Mikala fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Griffin checks it well.

Mikala scores a takedown into full mount!
Griffin tries to hold on but Mikala postures up.

Mikala is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Griffin has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Griffin prevents Mikala from taking his back.
Mikala wants to control but Griffin has made it back to half guard. Nice work.
Griffin won't allow Mikala to pass to mount.

Griffin slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Mikala stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Griffin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mikala drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Griffin dives on top into guard.

Mikala is looking for a triangle but Griffin pushes his legs off easily.
Griffin landing some decent shots from guard.
Mikala is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Mikala is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Griffin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mikala swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Griffin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Mikala working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Griffin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Griffin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Griffin wants to control from the top but Mikala keeps moving.
Griffin won't allow Mikala to sweep him here.

Mikala is looking for a sweep. Griffin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Mikala blocks a head kick by Griffin.
Griffin lands with a straight right. Mikala didn't see that one coming.
Mikala swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mikala shoots in but no luck this time.
Griffin throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mikala stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Mikala is breathing heavily.
Mikala throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Griffin digs a good hook to Mikala's body.
Griffin cracks Mikala with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Mikala misses with a hook.
A low kick from Mikala misses
and Griffin counters with a nice low kick that buckles Mikala's knee momentarily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Griffin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Wandell Griffin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mikala throws the kick towards the body but Griffin avoids it.
Griffin lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Griffin lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Mikala backs up against the cage.

Mikala avoids the head kick by Griffin.
Griffin scores with a jab to the jaw.

Iokua Mikala's cut is getting worse.
Mikala seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Griffin shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Mikala is backing up but Griffin catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Mikala covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Griffin Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wandell Griffin!
