PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcelio Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jurgen Klinsmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Klinsmann is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Liquid Soul - Push. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marcelio Garcia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jurgen Klinsmann!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Garcia throws a series of punches but Klinsmann avoids them all with ease.
Klinsmann shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Garcia sprawls well. Garcia wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Klinsmann gets slowly back to his feet.
Danga de danga de dang - Garcia scores with a four punch combination!
Klinsmann tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Garcia paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Klinsmann uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Garcia.
Garcia stuffs the takedown.
Marcelio Garcia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jurgen Klinsmann.
Klinsmann moves in looking to clinch but Garcia pushes him off.

Klinsmann feints and as Garcia raises his hands in defense, Klinsmann changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Garcia has his foot on Klinsmann's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Klinsmann works his way back into a safe position though.

Klinsmann thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Garcia not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Klinsmann throws and elbow that misses. Garcia uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Klinsmann's guard. Nice move by Garcia!

Garcia avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Klinsmann can't keep his opponent in guard - Garcia advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Klinsmann wants to get back to full guard.

Garcia is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Garcia is working for a submission of some sort.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Klinsmann keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Klinsmann manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Klinsmann is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest.
Klinsmann is looking for a sweep. Garcia is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Garcia is looking to take a break and control but Klinsmann is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Klinsmann is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Garcia pulls his head out easily.
Klinsmann is staying active underneath Garcia, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Garcia lands a two punch combo.
Klinsmann fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Marcelio Garcia is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Garcia goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Garcia rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Klinsmann moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Klinsmann changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Garcia looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Garcia gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Klinsmann wants to work for an arm triangle but Garcia is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Garcia throws a series of punches but Klinsmann moves out of range.
Garcia misses with a wild combination.
Klinsmann misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Klinsmann shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Garcia as he jumps to the side.
Klinsmann with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Garcia to score with a decent uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice takedown defense from Garcia. No joy for Klinsmann on that attempt.

Garcia pulls Klinsmann in close to prevent any damage.

Garcia wants to control from the top but Klinsmann keeps moving.
Klinsmann bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Garcia's guard.

Klinsmann drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Klinsmann jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Garcia has his feet on Klinsmann's thighs here. He's pushed Klinsmann off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Klinsmann screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
