Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Max Salvati (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Todd mcPhearson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Max Salvati seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No joy there for Salvati, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Salvati lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends mcPhearson sprawling to the canvas. Salvati follows him down, looking for the kill. Can mcPhearson hang on?

Salvati stalks mcPhearson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into mcPhearson's face. mcPhearson staggers backwards, shaken.

Salvati throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Salvati lands with a right hand.
Salvati throws a leg kick but mcPhearson moved away.

Salvati thuds his right hand into mcPhearson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Salvati misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

mcPhearson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Salvati swats him away and circles back towards the center.
mcPhearson misses with a takedown attempt - Salvati sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Max Salvati has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Todd mcPhearson.
Salvati throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Salvati does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
mcPhearson dodges the punch combination from Salvati.
Salvati throws a combination but it was largely blocked by mcPhearson.
Salvati feints and then cracks mcPhearson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow mcPhearson down.
Salvati scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Salvati swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Salvati throws a right hand that mcPhearson ducks under and follows up with a left that mcPhearson also avoids with ease.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

mcPhearson closes the distance and clinches up with Salvati, looking for a takedown. mcPhearson pushes Salvati against the cage but Salvati circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
mcPhearson throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

mcPhearson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Salvati can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
mcPhearson tries to control but Salvati wriggling away.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
mcPhearson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Salvati kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
You get the feeling that Salvati really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Salvati is controlling an arm, preventing mcPhearson from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
mcPhearson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Salvati tries to avoid it but mcPhearson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Salvati to the ground. Salvati escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Salvati swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by mcPhearson.
mcPhearson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
A left lands for Salvati.
Salvati scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
mcPhearson gets cracked there but stands up to it.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Salvati knocks mcPhearson out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
