Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryu Mishima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Genki Sudo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mishima comes to the cage accompanied by Tokyo Drift by Teriyaki Boyz. The crowd seem to be enjoying Sudo's choice of entrance music: Mad World. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Genki Sudo!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mishima fails to land with a series of punches.
Sudo looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Sudo throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mishima lands a glancing blow to the side of Sudo's head.


It looks like Genki Sudo has been cut.
Mishima throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Mishima drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Mishima sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sudo's guard.

Mishima working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Mishima thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Mishima feints and as Sudo raises his hands in defense, Mishima changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Mishima is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Mishima passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Mishima passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Sudo!

Mishima is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sudo can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Mishima is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Sudo has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Sudo!

Mishima has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Sudo doesn't defend quickly enough and Mishima has managed to lock this one up! Can Sudo escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Mishima on a fantastic submission victory.
