Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Harold Kumar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Adaru Kitano!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Joseph Jones and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kumar wants to clinch.
Kumar moves away from the strike by Kitano.
A head kick misses from Kumar.
Nice jab there from Kumar.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kumar looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kitano clinches but Kumar breaks the clinch
and Kumar counters with a right hand to the body.

and Kitano counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kitano.
Kitano trying to control the position from guard on top but Kumar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kitano trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Kitano trying to move into half guard but instead Kumar has managed to sweep!

Kitano looking for a guillotine here but Kumar defends easily.

Kitano has Kumar pulled in close to control his posture.
Let's hope that Kitano has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kumar won't allow Kitano to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kitano is trying to control the position but Kumar postures up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kumar goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Kumar doesn't manage to clinch there - Kitano circles away.

and Kitano counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Kitano looks gassed!

Kumar uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Kumar scores with a nice right hand.

Kumar takes the fight into the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kumar wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kitano has him pressed against the cage.
Kumar is trying to break free.
Kumar gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kitano.
Kumar wants to break free but Kitano has control.
Kumar wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Kumar breaks from the clinch.
Harold Kumar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kumar tries to grapple but his opponent circles

so Kitano counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Kitano content to stall in guard here.
Kitano sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kumar's guard.
Kumar wants to stand back up but Kitano manages to pass into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kumar is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kitano asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kitano tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kitano has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adaru Kitano dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kitano controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Kitano advances position into side control!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Kitano works to advance to full mount. Kumar defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kumar has given up his back.

Kitano looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! Kumar taps!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Adaru Kitano!
