The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valasquez throws a right and a left that Serptentino avoids nicely.
Serptentino tries a head kick but it misses.
Valasquez misses with a jab, cross combination.

Valasquez's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Valasquez duly obliges.
Valasquez misses with a wild combination.
Valasquez throws a series of punches but Serptentino avoids them all with ease.
Serptentino throws a sloppy head kick and Valasquez moves out of range easily.
Nice takedown defense from Valasquez. No joy for Serptentino on that attempt.

Serptentino wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Valasquez, who protects the arm well.

Serptentino is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Valasquez knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Serptentino tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Serptentino has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Serptentino is working to tighten is grip on Valasquez's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Valasquez has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Serptentino is really squeezing tight and eventually Valasquez passes out! Serptentino breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
