Balboa's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, eye of the tiger. Leonidus Cesar will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cesar gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Balboa to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Balboa is pushing down on Cesar's leg trying to pass to half guard. Cesar is fighting to maintain full guard but Balboa has managed to sneak the leg through.

Balboa wants to work for an arm triangle but Cesar is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Balboa is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cesar sees it coming and defends easily.

Balboa is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cesar is just riding it out for now. Balboa eventually gives up the hold.

Balboa with a flurry of punches that miss.
Balboa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cesar swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cesar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Balboa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Cesar looks gassed!

Balboa thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Cesar is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Balboa is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Balboa is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Cesar has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Balboa can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Balboa drops back looking for a leg! Cesar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cesar manages to kick Balboa off! Balboa jumps back into Cesar's guard.
