Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between koln poir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Absten Brews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, koln poir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Absten Brews!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Sergei Dronov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brews shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Brews showed some decent athleticism there.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
poir won't allow Brews to pass to mount.
Brews thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed poir's head.
Brews is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Brews is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, poir has managed to free his arm - good work.
Brews looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Brews slips a nice elbow through poir's hands, connecting with poir's forehead.
Brews is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
poir manages to get to full guard.
Brews seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Brews must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

poir wants to stand and escape but Brews is having none of it.
Brews lands a couple of decent looking shots.
poir trying to keep a closed guard but Brews is proving a slippery customer.
Brews controls from within his opponent's guard.
poir is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

poir is working an open guard so Brews takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Brews throws a lazy right hand but poir sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

poir fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
poir could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Brews shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. poir manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
poir is breathing heavily.
Brews trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Brews is pushing down on poir's leg trying to pass to half guard. poir is fighting to maintain full guard but Brews has managed to sneak the leg through.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Brews is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Brews wants to pass to mount but poir is defending the position.

poir is trying to maintain the position but Brews is very close to passing his half guard.
Brews stops poir from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Brews closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. poir did well to prevent Brews getting side control.
Brews is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Brews prevents poir from improving his position.
Brews stalling.

Brews decides to stand and escape the position.
Brews is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Brews throws a nice looking combination but poir bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Absten Brews dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


poir shoots in but Brews avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Brews lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Absten Brews seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brews throws a quick head kick that skims the top of poir's head.
poir gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Brews counters with a takedown into side control.
poir is trying to escape the position but Brews is controlling the position.
Brews looks up at the clock and then as poir takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Brews smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Brews works to advance to full mount. poir defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Brews lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
poir is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
poir is bucking up trying to escape but Brews cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Absten Brews has got the better of the ground game so far.
Brews controlling his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brews landing strikes, looking to finish!

Brews is going oldschool here, as he tries to force poir to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so poir shrugs it off.
The referee warns poir that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
poir bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Brews utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
poir throwing strikes from guard but Brews blocks nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brews is looking for a triangle but poir pushes his legs off easily.
poir stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brews swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Brews keeping moving, preventing poir from controlling successfully.
Brews looking for a sweep. Not yet Brews, not yet.
poir won't allow Brews to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Brews keeping full guard, as poir tries to pass.
poir trying to control but Brews is working from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
poir misses with a jab, cross combination.
koln poir is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Brews takes the fight into the clinch.

Brews has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but poir regains guard immediately.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Absten Brews showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Brews shoots in but poir avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Brews tries to clinch but poir moves out of range.

Brews feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
poir is looking to stand up but Brews isn't so interested in that idea.

poir lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

poir tries to control but Brews wriggling away.
Brews tries to reverse the position but poir maintains control.
Brews is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
poir throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Brews really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Brews is squirming around, avoiding poir's attempts to control the action.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
poir is really struggling to control Brews but he's trying to hold on to the position.

poir is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Brews to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Brews shrugs it off.
Brews is wriggling around trying to escape.
Brews manages to control the position for a moment.

poir avoids the attempt from Brews to control.
Brews is in all sorts of trouble here.

poir throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Brews because poir loaded up on that one.
Brews wants to hold on but poir pushes him away.
Brews is wriggling around trying to escape.
Brews is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Brews tries to hold on but poir postures up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Absten Brews comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Brews has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
