PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Death Row (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liha Pulla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Row comes to the cage accompanied by Who Da Champion. Pulla is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Arvo Pärt - De Profundis. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Death Row!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Liha Pulla!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Row defending well as Pulla loads up on a big left hand.
Pulla throws a hook to the side of Row's head but Row sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A looping hook to the body misses from Row. Pulla does a little dance to reset his feet.
Row walks into a stiff left hand from Pulla.
Row steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pulla.
Pulla lands with a shot to the body.
Pulla scores with the left hand. Row knows he should have avoided that one.


It looks like Death Row has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Row lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pulla circles away quickly and effectively.
Pulla swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
The fighters circling - Row throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Row shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pulla but Pulla pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Pulla misses with a low kick.
Row keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Row connects with a nice looking jab.
Row fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Row misses with a takedown attempt - Pulla sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Row misses with a looping right.
Pulla throws out a loose jab but Row uses good head movement to avoid it.
Row walks into a stiff left hand from Pulla.
Pulla misses with a hook.
Row connects with a looping right hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pulla misses with a body shot

and Row counters with a takedown into side control.
Pulla is trying to get back to half guard.
Pulla prevents Row from moving into mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pulla can do anything to dispel that myth.
Pulla is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Row off and has taken his back!
Pulla controlling well, preventing Row from escaping the position.
Pulla avoiding Row 's attempts to control his hands.
Row manages to reverse the position and now he's in Pulla's guard. Nice work there by Row.
Pulla looking for a sweep. Not yet Pulla, not yet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pulla seems keen to control Row's posture.
Row throws and elbow that misses. Pulla uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Row's guard. Nice move by Pulla!
Pulla won't allow Row to sweep him here.

Row is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pulla defends well.
Pulla being controlled here momentarily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Row controls Pulla momentarily but Pulla frees himself.

Row has his foot on Pulla's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pulla works his way back into a safe position though.
Row is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Pulla sitting in guard, not really doing much.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Row tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Row not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Pulla stopping the sweep attempt from Row.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Row shoots in looking for a takedown. Pulla tries to sprawl out of it but Row keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pulla manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Death Row. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Row throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A big right from Row misses.
Nice uppercut there from Row.
Pulla throws a shot to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Liha Pulla dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Death Row's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Pulla throws a nice inside leg kick.
Row takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Row avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Pulla leaves Row with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A big right from Pulla misses.
Row ducks under a wild hook from Pulla.
Row keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Row uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pulla.
A telegraphed right hand from Pulla misses the target.
Pulla scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Pulla lands with a shot to the body.
Pulla throws a leg kick but Row checks it.
Row fails with the takedown.
Pulla scores with a nice strike.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Pulla comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Pulla connects with a right hand. Row shakes it off.
Pulla throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Row counters with a nice uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Pulla lands a big right hand that sends Row crashing to the mat! Pulla stays standing though and waves Row back to his feet!


Row is rocked!
Row uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pulla.
Pulla closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Row out cold! Row corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Liha Pulla!
