Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mauricio Shogun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Cash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mauricio Shogun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johnny Cash!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cash scores with a takedown into Shogun's guard.
Cash trying to control the position from guard on top but Shogun is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Cash is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Cash gets to his feet. Shogun looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Shogun.
Shogun is breathing heavily.

Cash darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Cash is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Cash is working for a kimura but Shogun is defending it quite comfortably.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cash trying to control the action but Shogun is working from the bottom.

Cash is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Shogun sees it coming and defends easily.

Cash is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Shogun doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cash.
Cash wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shogun keeps working.
Cash looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Shogun knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cash on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Shogun won't allow Cash to pass to mount.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cash lands a nice short elbow.
Cash working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Shogun's thigh. Shogun counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Shogun is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cash is controlling him.

Cash gets to his feet - Shogun follows without any prompting.

Cash instigates a clinch.

Shogun is fighting off a takedown attempt but Cash is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Shogun to the mat. Shogun regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Cash chips away with some ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Cash gets to his feet. Shogun looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Shogun tries to clinch up

and Cash counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Shogun looking for a guillotine here but Cash defends easily.
Cash trying to control but Shogun is working from the bottom.
Cash scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Cash landing some decent shots from guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Cash gets to his feet. Shogun looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Cash closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cash lands in his opponent's guard.
Cash wants to control from the top but Shogun keeps moving.
Cash looking to sit in guard and control but Shogun gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Cash holds on and takes a little breather.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnny Cash dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Cash closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Shogun can't do much from the bottom here.

Cash tries for a kimura but Shogun is defending well.
You can see the frustration on Shogun's face as Cash controls the position.

Cash is trying to get an arm triangle but Shogun is defending well.
Cash grinds an elbow into Shogun's temple.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Cash thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
You can see the frustration on Shogun's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Shogun is trying to improve his position.

Cash has an Americana. Shogun didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Cash is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Cash hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Johnny Cash!
