Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tri Angle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Long (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Angle's entrance music is Why we thugs. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tri Angle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jimmy Long!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Long fails with a takedown attempt.

Long darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Angle looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Long seems to be working for a kimura but Angle defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are battling for position here. Angle manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Angle not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Long tries to free his leg and advance position but Angle is retaining full guard.
Long working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Long trying to control but Angle is working from the bottom.

Long got a little sloppy there for a moment and Angle has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Long has managed to get both his arms back between Angle's legs - danger averted.
Long advances to half guard.

Long is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Angle is staying active underneath Long, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Angle is breathing heavily.
Angle trying to hold on to Long's head to control him but Long postures up.
Long is trying to control the action in half guard but Angle is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Angle regains full guard. Nicely done.

Long postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Angle is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Long, into his guard.

Angle drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Long manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Angle has Long in his guard.

Long is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Angle looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Angle keeping moving, preventing Long from controlling successfully.
Long is pushing down on Angle's leg trying to pass to half guard. Angle is fighting to maintain full guard but Long has managed to sneak the leg through.

Long is trying to work for a kimura but Angle is defending well.
Long throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Angle wants to get back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Still in half guard, Long seems content to control.
Angle tries to roll over but Long keeps him under control.

Long is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Angle has managed to free his arm - good work.

Long is looking for a kimura but Angle is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Long to get the leverage.
Angle is refusing to be controlled, as Long sits in half guard.

Long is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Angle is just riding it out for now. Long eventually gives up the hold.
Angle wants to control but Long is keeping busy.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Angle gets back to full guard.
Angle not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Long is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Angle really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Angle is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Long wants to control from the top but Angle keeps moving.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Long shoots in but no luck this time.

Angle scores with a takedown into Long's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jimmy Long will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Long with a poor takedown

and Angle counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Long works his way to full guard. Good work.
Angle wants to control from the top but Long keeps moving.
Long looking to control.
Long looking for a sweep. Not yet Long, not yet.

Angle thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Angle is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Long wants to sweep here but Angle controlling him for the moment.
Angle trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Long fails with the takedown

and Angle counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Tri Angle overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Angle missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Long utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Angle trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Angle has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Long is proving hard to escape from.

Long wants to sweep but no luck.
Angle wants to pass the guard but Long is keeping the position.

Long working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Angle doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Angle manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Long can't keep his opponent in guard - Angle advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Angle wants to stand but Long has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Long tries to roll over but Angle keeps him under control.

Angle is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Long sees it coming and defends easily.

Long is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Angle pulls his head out easily.
Angle passes the guard and advances to mount!

Angle looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Long gets back to half guard.
Angle trying to advance position but Long counters by regaining guard.

Long has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Angle can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Angle throwing strikes but missing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tri Angle dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Long doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Angle counters with a takedown into side control.
Long is looking for a sweep.
Angle tries to advance to mount but Long denies him.

Angle is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Long knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Angle wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Long, who protects the arm well.
Long manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Long looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Long is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Angle defends it well.
Long is thwarting Angle's attempts to control the position.
Long is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Angle!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Long swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jimmy Long!
