Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Emilio Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Djulio Cortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Silva might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Enter Sandman - Metallica. Cortez has chosen Knock him out as his entrance music. Djulio Cortez has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva tests Cortez's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Cortez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Silva is fending him off so far but Cortez persists. Nope, Silva circles away and we're back to standing.

Cortez tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Silva is able to avoid easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Cortez pulls Silva in close to prevent any damage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Silva accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Cortez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Silva moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Silva counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Silva shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Silva was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Silva cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Silva lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Silva drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cortez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Silva has Cortez in his guard.
