Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Dymond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alfredo Chavez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dymond kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Are you gonna go my way. James Dymond has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Chavez with that takedown attempt.
Dymond lands with a kick to the temple. Chavez shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Dymond stuffs the takedown attempt from Chavez. Chavez gets slowly back to his feet.
Dymond stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dymond wants it to stay on the feet.

Chavez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dymond pinned against the cage. Dymond gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Dymond tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Chavez paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Chavez has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Dymond decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Chavez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
No luck for Dymond with that takedown attempt.
Dymond closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Chavez misses with a looping right.
Dymond lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

and Dymond counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Dymond feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Dymond drops back, looking for a kneebar! Chavez looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Chavez looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Chavez!

You can see the frustration on Dymond's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Chavez can do anything to dispel that myth.

Dymond shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Dymond was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Dymond has control of Chavez's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Chavez regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Chavez is looking to improve his position but Dymond isn't that keen on the idea.
