The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanka throws a leg kick that misses.
Sanka gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Donaldo goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Derice Sanka has been cut.
Donaldo avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sanka takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Nice uppercut lands for Donaldo. That snapped Sanka's head back.
Donaldo works the jab nicely.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sanka is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Donaldo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sanka.

Sanka looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Sanka uses his free foot to push down on Donaldo's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Donaldo.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Sanka goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Donaldo is on top in guard.

Donaldo is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Sanka is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Sanka has escaped and now he's on top!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Donaldo stuns Sanka with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Sanka shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Donaldo but Donaldo pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Sanka lands a left and a right that send Donaldo crashing to the mat, dazed. Sanka thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Pato Donaldo has been cut.
Sanka is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sanka closes the distance looking for a takedown. Sanka picks Donaldo up and slams him brutally to the floor. Donaldo is out! He's out cold! Wow, you don't see a finish like that every day!
