The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Richards rushes Strange and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Strange wants a takedown but no success here.
Richards can't get the takedown.
A nice right hand lands inside from Richards.
Richards prevents Strange from breaking the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Strange's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Strange prevents the takedown attempt.
Strange swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Richards lands with a right to the head.

It looks like Adam Strange has been cut.

That has opened up Adam Strange's cut even more.

Richards is working on a single leg takedown against the ropes. Strange can't fight it off and eventually Richards manages to take the fight to the floor. Strange looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Richards wants to free his trapped foot but Strange is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Richards content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Strange really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Richards. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Richards stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Strange to get to his feet.

Richards has closed the distance and engaged Strange in a clinch.

Richards's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Strange is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Strange takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Strange takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Richards throws a leg kick that misses.
Richards throws a series of punches but Strange avoids them all with ease.

Richards has Strange up against the ropes in a clinch.
Richards lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Strange backwards.

The cut above Adam Strange's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Richards lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the ropes.

Richards has clasped his hands together around Strange's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Richards wants to lay and pray for a moment but Strange keeps working.
Strange is breathing heavily.
Strange tries to escape but Richards is in control.

Strange wants to get back to his feet but Richards is dominant here and he's now got Strange's back!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Richards misses with a punch to the head.
Strange is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Richards.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ben Richards just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Richards drops Strange with a beautiful combination! Strange stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Richards is looking for the KO!

Strange is rocked!

Adam Strange's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Adam Strange's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
