PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Atticus Jax (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Falcao Silvinho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Falcao Silvinho!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Felipe Paraventi and Alexandre Firmino.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jax tries to work over Silvinho's front leg with a kick but Silvinho checks it.
Jax throws a leg kick that misses.
Silvinho will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Silvinho shoots in for a takedown but Jax shows good takedown defense.
Silvinho on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Jax. Jax obviously looking to wear him down.
Jax stalks Silvinho and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Silvinho's face. Silvinho staggers backwards, shaken.

Jax closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Silvinho manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Jax tries to kick Silvinho off but Silvinho keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Jax is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jax defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Silvinho.
Jax is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Jax knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silvinho on the ground.
Jax is desperately trying to improve his position but Silvinho has a good base and remains in mount.

Silvinho looking to control and managing it successfully.
Jax can't escape the position.

Silvinho has control of Jax's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Jax regains control of the situation pretty easily.

I looks like Silvinho might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Jax is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Silvinho is working for a guillotine from mount but Jax frees his head quite easily.
Silvinho looks gassed!
Jax is looking to improve his position but Silvinho isn't that keen on the idea.

Silvinho is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jax can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
You get the feeling that Jax really doesn't like being in this position too much.
BOOM! Silvinho connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Jax really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silvinho working for a submission but Jax is keeping him at bay.
Jax is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Silvinho controlling his opponent.
Jax taking shots to the head.
Silvinho lands a nice shot to the head.
Silvinho landing punches.
Silvinho scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Jax?

Jax is rocked!
Silvinho with shots to the head and body - Jax looks very uncomfortable down there.
Oh Jax is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jax keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Silvinho landing shots from mount.
Jax wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Jax seems to have got his legs back now.
You can see the frustration on Jax's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Silvinho has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Jax.
Jax is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Jax defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Silvinho's arms.
Jax is really stuck here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Falcao Silvinho dominated that round.
That's time! Jax's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Silvinho takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
A punch combination from Jax misses.

Silvinho darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Jax flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Falcao Silvinho has got the better of the ground game so far.

Silvinho is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jax doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Silvinho.
Silvinho drops an elbow to the side of Jax's head.
Jax wants to control but Silvinho is keeping busy.
Silvinho trying to control the action but Jax is working from the bottom.

Silvinho frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Jax tries to buck Silvinho off but Silvinho takes his back!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
You can see the frustration on Jax's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
I would not like to be Jax right now.

Jax won't enjoy being in this position. Silvinho looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Jax is tapping - it's over boys! Silvinho picks up the submission victory!
