Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Clint Wendell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Scott Baker!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baker jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Baker tries to move into range but Wendell moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Wendell misses with a series of wild punches.
Wendell avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Baker throws a hook to the side of Wendell's head but Wendell sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Wendell throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Baker throws a hook but Wendell blocks it.
Baker is looking to clinch but Wendell is avoiding it.

Wendell closes the distance and pushes Baker back into the cage.

Wendell turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Wendell looks up at the clock and then as Baker takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Wendell smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Baker can do anything to dispel that myth.

Wendell working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Baker is trying to work for a sweep but Wendell has mounted him!

Wendell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Baker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Wendell lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Baker!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Wendell prevents Baker from getting the reversal.
Wendell blocks Baker's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Baker is trying desperately to improve position.

Wendell has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Wendell is landing with some decent strikes but Baker is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Wendell swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Baker is now in Wendell's guard. A big mistake from Wendell there, giving up the dominant position!
Wendell is breathing heavily.
Baker makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Wendell is trying to maintain the position but Baker is very close to passing his half guard.

Baker lands a couple of elbows.
Wendell trying to keep a closed guard but Baker is proving a slippery customer.
Wendell bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Baker's guard.
Wendell forces his way into half guard.
Baker is looking for a sweep. Wendell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Wendell looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Baker with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Wendell is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Baker is looking to improve his position but Wendell isn't that keen on the idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Clint Wendell dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Baker throws a head kick that misses.
Wendell takes one to the chin there.
Wendell tries to clinch there but Baker circles away.
Baker swats away the attempt to clinch by Wendell.
A looping hook to the body misses from Baker. Wendell does a little dance to reset his feet.
Clint Wendell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Baker throws a left and a right that both miss
and Wendell counters with a series of strikes. Baker will be more careful next time no doubt.
Baker throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Wendell sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Baker tries to clinch there but Wendell circles away.

Wendell tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Baker smiles and moves away.

Wendell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Baker cracks Wendell with a good jab.

Wendell drives through and clinches with Baker against the cage.

A frustrated look appears on Wendell's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Baker prevents Wendell from breaking the clinch.
Baker tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Wendell is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Baker gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Clint Wendell. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Baker lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Scott Baker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


The fight stays on the outside here - Baker looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Wendell lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Baker or not.

Wendell takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Wendell has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Baker clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Wendell lands an elbow to the side of the head.
