The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
del Pilar shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Parruttaja as he avoids it easily.

del Pilar misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
del Pilar scores with a takedown into Parruttaja's guard.
Parruttaja is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst del Pilar is controlling him.

del Pilar distracts Parruttaja with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Parruttaja wants to stand but del Pilar is controlling the position.
del Pilar advances position into side control!
del Pilar has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Parruttaja is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, del Pilar asserts his dominance and retains side control.
