Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Tim Whitelock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Clark Kent!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Glass and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kent bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Whitelock's head backwards.
Kent avoids the head kick by Whitelock.

Whitelock has managed to clinch.

Whitelock decides to pull guard.
Kent trying to stand up but can't free himself from Whitelock's guard.

Whitelock wriggles free and stands up.

Whitelock feints and as Kent raises his hands in defense, Whitelock changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Kent looking for a guillotine here but Whitelock defends easily.
Whitelock has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Whitelock pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kent is keeping the position for now.
Kent keeping moving, preventing Whitelock from controlling successfully.

Whitelock wants to pass the guard but Kent is keeping the position.
Whitelock looking to sit in guard and control but Kent gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kent is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Whitelock defends well.

Whitelock gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Whitelock changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kent looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Kent is looking to reverse the position.
Whitelock controls the position.
Whitelock is breathing heavily.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Kent is not content to let Whitelock control the position.
Kent is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Kent is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Whitelock asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Whitelock closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Whitelock lands in his opponent's guard.

Kent is looking for a sweep. Whitelock is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Kent pushes Whitelock off looking to stand but Whitelock dives back in and keeps control.

Whitelock stands up and beckons Kent to join him on the feet.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Whitelock.

Kent gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Kent is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Whitelock stands up and waves to Kent to follow him.

and Whitelock counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kent's guard now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Whitelock wants to control from the top but Kent keeps moving.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Whitelock accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Kent wants to stand but Whitelock is controlling the position.

Kent is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Whitelock is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Kent looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Kent can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Whitelock controls the pace.

Whitelock avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Whitelock lands a couple of digs.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Whitelock stands and throws Kent's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Kent is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Whitelock is controlling him well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Whitelock is taking a breather. Kent says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Whitelock wants to control but Kent is keeping him busy.

Kent is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Whitelock pulls his head out easily.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Whitelock takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Whitelock looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Kent looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Whitelock pushes past his half guard into mount!

Whitelock is working for a guillotine from mount but Kent frees his head quite easily.
Kent is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Whitelock tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Kent in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Whitelock looking to control but Kent is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Kent is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Tim Whitelock overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kent holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Whitelock tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Whitelock throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Kent because Whitelock loaded up on that one.
Kent is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Whitelock connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Whitelock throws some wild stikes that Kent manages to avoid easily.
Kent trying desperately to get to his feet.
Clark Kent has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kent is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Whitelock has taken his back!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kent looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Tim Whitelock is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
