The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pizel shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Alan is trying to defend but Pizel finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Alan stalks Pizel and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Pizel's face. Pizel staggers backwards, shaken.

and Alan counters with a three punch combo that has Pizel backing up. Pizel nods at Alan to acknowledge the strikes.
Jason Alan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Alan throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Pizel on the side of the head.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Alan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
