The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maciel looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Don Santos is fending him off so far but Maciel persists. Nope, Don Santos circles away and we're back to standing.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Maciel.
Maciel throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Maciel shoots in for a double leg but Don Santos sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Maciel tries to clinch but Don Santos is having none of it.
Don Santos throws a left and a right that both miss
and Maciel counters with a single leg into guard. Don Santos didn't expect that.

Don Santos is looking to stand up but Maciel isn't so interested in that idea.
Maciel wants to control from the top but Don Santos keeps moving.
