Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Keith Elliott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and luis rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). rivera has chosen bleed it out as his entrance music. luis rivera is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, luis rivera!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elliott shoots in for a takedown but rivera shows good takedown defense.
rivera looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Elliott misses with a head kick.
Elliott tries to score a power double leg takedown but rivera sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Elliott somewhat.
Elliott uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by rivera.

Elliott is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in rivera's half guard.
Elliott seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Elliott seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down rivera for as long as he can get away with.

Elliott looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Elliott's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Elliott is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Elliott frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Elliott tries to control but rivera wriggling away.
Elliott thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Elliott throws a right and a left that both miss.
Elliott shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has rivera pinned against the cage. rivera gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Elliott throws a body kick that misses.
Keith Elliott is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Elliott has a takedown stuffed.
rivera throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Elliott will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
rivera keeping moving, preventing Elliott from controlling successfully.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Keith Elliott just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
rivera thows a body shot but no joy.
rivera throws a sloppy body shot

and Elliott counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Elliott trying to control from half guard but rivera is working away.
Elliott is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and rivera reverses the position - he's now on top in Elliott's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Elliott is on top in guard.
Elliott won't allow rivera to get back to his feet.
Elliott is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Elliott trying to control but rivera is working from the bottom.
Elliott would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
rivera not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Keith Elliott dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

and Elliott counters with a one-two to the body.
Elliott shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts rivera as he jumps to the side.
Elliott throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around rivera's waist but rivera gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Elliott off to one side.

rivera throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Elliott blocks a head kick by rivera.
Elliott is looking to clinch.

rivera slaps away a takedown attempt from Elliott, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Elliott lands a nice hook to rivera's body. rivera takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Elliott fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Elliott counters with a nice uppercut.
Elliott dodges the punch combination from rivera.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Elliott.
rivera throws a head kick that misses.
Elliott tries to clinch there but rivera circles away.
rivera throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Elliott shoots in and bounces rivera off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
rivera is trying to keep Elliott in close.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Elliott slips nicely into half guard.
Elliott is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Elliott tries to control but rivera wriggling away.
rivera holds on for dear life, controlling Elliott's posture momentarily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
A nice elbow there by Elliott.
Elliott wants to control the pace but rivera is squirming around nicely.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Elliott jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… rivera is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by rivera and Elliott has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

And that's the end of the fight!
Keith Elliott showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Elliott, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
