Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rufus Dragon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uni Haselcase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Rufus Dragon has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rufus Dragon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Uni Haselcase!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Dragon looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Dragon fails with a takedown attempt.
Haselcase will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Haselcase shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dragon's guard.
Haselcase wants to control from the top but Dragon keeps moving.
Dragon working a defensive guard here.
Dragon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Haselcase is one step ahead there.

Haselcase drops back looking for a leg! Dragon is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dragon manages to kick Haselcase off! Haselcase jumps back into Dragon's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Haselcase advances to half guard.

Haselcase is looking to take a break and control but Dragon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Dragon is trying to control but can't.
Dragon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Haselcase on the ground.
Haselcase is trying to control. Dragon wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Dragon throws a series of punches but Haselcase avoids them all with ease.

Haselcase drives through with a takedown into guard.
Haselcase trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Haselcase drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dragon manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Haselcase has Dragon in his guard.

Dragon tries to stand but Haselcase is controlling from the bottom.

Dragon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Haselcase is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Dragon wants to pass the guard but Haselcase is keeping the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Dragon passes into half guard.
Dragon sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Haselcase defending well though.
Dragon thows a huge punch but Haselcase dodges it nicely.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dragon wants to free his trapped foot but Haselcase is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Haselcase is trying is best to control the position here.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Dragon tries to clinch but Haselcase moves out of range.
Dragon ducks under a wild hook from Haselcase.
Haselcase keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Dragon misses with a takedown attempt

and Haselcase counters with a shoot takedown. Dragon fights it but they end up in guard.
Haselcase is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Dragon can't keep his opponent in guard - Haselcase advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Haselcase is trying to control the action in half guard but Dragon is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Dragon wants to sweep but Haselcase has passed to side control!
Dragon is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Haselcase wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dragon, who protects the arm well.
Dragon is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Dragon is trying to maintain the position but Haselcase is very close to passing his half guard.

Haselcase is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dragon doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Haselcase.

Haselcase is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Dragon is pressing down on Haselcase's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dragon wants to get back to his feet but Haselcase is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Dragon not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Haselcase trying to control the position from guard on top but Dragon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Haselcase drops back looking for a leg! Dragon is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dragon manages to kick Haselcase off! Haselcase jumps back into Dragon's guard.
Haselcase is breathing heavily.
Dragon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Haselcase drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dragon dives on top into guard.
Dragon lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Dragon decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Haselcase, up you get!
Dragon stuffs the takedown attempt from Haselcase. Haselcase gets slowly back to his feet.

Haselcase seems to be looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Haselcase is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Uni Haselcase has got the better of the ground game so far.
Haselcase prevents Dragon from improving his position.

Haselcase seems to be looking for submissions.
Dragon looks like he's trying to stand up.
Dragon is looking for a sweep. Haselcase is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Haselcase seems to be working for a kimura but Dragon defends the submission attempt.
Haselcase stops Dragon from getting back to his feet.

Uni Haselcase showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Dragon throws a sloppy head kick and Haselcase moves out of range easily.
Haselcase fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Haselcase misses with a takedown attempt - Dragon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Dragon doesn't manage to clinch there - Haselcase circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Haselcase closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Haselcase lands in his opponent's guard.

Haselcase got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dragon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Haselcase has managed to get both his arms back between Dragon's legs - danger averted.
Haselcase takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Haselcase wants to pass the guard but Dragon is keeping the position.

Haselcase is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Dragon lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Haselcase!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Haselcase can't escape the position.
Haselcase avoids a strike by Dragon and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Dragon's guard! Fantastic escape!
Dragon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Dragon looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Haselcase is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Dragon wants to stand up but Haselcase is controlling him.
Dragon is trying to keep Haselcase in close.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Haselcase shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dragon as he jumps to the side.
Rufus Dragon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Uni Haselcase.

Uni Haselcase comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Haselcase winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
