The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Virtanen.
Thompson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Virtanen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Virtanen tries to clinch there but Thompson circles away.
Virtanen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Thompson was well out of range. Poor timing from Virtanen.

Thompson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Virtanen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Thompson moves away.
Thompson throws a series of strikes that have Virtanen backpedaling.
It looks like Artturi Virtanen has been cut.

Thompson connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Thompson steps into range and cracks Virtanen with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Virtanen flops backwards and Thompson dives into his guard looking to finish!

Thompson is in close to Virtanen's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Thompson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Virtanen seems to have recovered his senses.

Virtanen throws a right hand that Thompson ducks under and follows up with a left that Thompson also avoids with ease.
Thompson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Thompson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Thompson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Virtanen throws out the jab.
Thompson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Virtanen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Virtanen looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Thompson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Thompson takes a swing at Virtanen's ribcage but misses.
Virtanen throws a sloppy body shot
and Thompson scores with a counter punch that sends Virtanen to the canvas! Thompson smells blood - he's punishing Virtanen with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Virtanen has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
