Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tomko TaTupa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Squirmy McGee!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Thiago Cunha and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

TaTupa scores a takedown into full mount!
McGee is trying desperately to improve position.
TaTupa can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as McGee is looking to escape.
McGee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with TaTupa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
TaTupa with a couple of short strikes.
TaTupa putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
TaTupa looking to control but McGee is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
McGee is in all sorts of trouble here.

TaTupa jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… McGee is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by McGee and TaTupa has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
McGee is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

TaTupa tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no TaTupa has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
TaTupa connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused McGee some visible discomfort.
TaTupa wants to lay and pray for a moment but McGee keeps working.
McGee tries to get back to half guard but can't.

TaTupa thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
McGee manages to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
McGee tries to get to full guard but TaTupa has control of the leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

McGee looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
TaTupa lands strikes from half guard.
TaTupa is breathing heavily.
McGee is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

McGee looking for submissions off his back.
TaTupa tries to stand and escape but McGee is controlling the position.
McGee wants to get back to full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
McGee is looking to clinch but TaTupa is avoiding it.
TaTupa looks for a takedown but McGee sprawls well.

McGee shoots in and bounces TaTupa off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
TaTupa keeping full guard, as McGee tries to pass.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

TaTupa is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
TaTupa wants to stand but McGee is controlling the position.

TaTupa looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
TaTupa is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
TaTupa trying to control the action but McGee is working from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McGee can do anything to dispel that myth.
McGee regains full guard. Nicely done.
TaTupa won't allow McGee to sweep him here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

McGee looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
TaTupa trying to control the position from guard on top but McGee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
TaTupa sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed McGee's guard.

McGee actively working from the bottom here.
TaTupa is trying to control the action in half guard but McGee is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

TaTupa is trying to work for a kimura but McGee is defending well.
McGee wants to improve his position but TaTupa is controlling well.

TaTupa is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McGee is just riding it out for now. TaTupa eventually gives up the hold.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
TaTupa tries to pass to full mount but McGee defends it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tomko TaTupa dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


McGee tries to clinch there but TaTupa circles away.

McGee moves into the clinch successfully.
McGee changes levels and goes for a takedown here. TaTupa fights it off and pushes away nicely.
TaTupa circles away from the clinch attempt.
TaTupa tries to close the distance and clinch up but McGee swats him away and circles back towards the center.

McGee takes the fight into the clinch.

McGee gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, TaTupa regains guard.

McGee drops back looking for a leg! TaTupa is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and TaTupa manages to kick McGee off! McGee jumps back into TaTupa's guard.
TaTupa wants to sweep here but McGee controlling him for the moment.
TaTupa looking to control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McGee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. TaTupa swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
TaTupa is trying to control the position but McGee postures up.
TaTupa keeping full guard, as McGee tries to pass.
TaTupa looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
TaTupa fails with an attempt to clinch.

McGee has taken the fight to the clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by McGee.
TaTupa goes for a takedown in the clinch but McGee prevents it.

McGee turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and McGee manages to end up in side control.
TaTupa struggling a bit here.
