Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Przemyslaw Lignarski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shaun Swagger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Swagger's choice of entrance music: Amazing. Przemyslaw Lignarski could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Shaun Swagger's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Przemyslaw Lignarski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Shaun Swagger!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Swagger closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Lignarski wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Swagger has him pressed against the cage.
A shot in the inside from Lignarski.
Swagger digs a right hand underneath Lignarski's ribcage. Lignarski let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Swagger is pressed up against the cage. Lignarski has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Swagger down to the mat. Swagger avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Lignarski fails with an attempt to clinch.

Swagger changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lignarski looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Lignarski tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Swagger wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

I looks like Swagger might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You can see the frustration on Lignarski's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Lignarski is looking to regain half guard here but Swagger keeps moving and retains side control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Lignarski throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Lignarski is trying to control Swagger's posture but Swagger avoids it.

Lignarski parries the strikes from Swagger easily there. Swagger is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Lignarski to escape.
Swagger cracks Lignarski with a big right hand but Lignarski just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Lignarski throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Swagger is looking to take a break and control but Lignarski is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Lignarski wants to get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A lull in the action here as Swagger stalls from top position.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shaun Swagger dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Lignarski fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Swagger.

Lignarski misses with a few strikes there.
Swagger fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lignarski avoids it really well and circles away.

Lignarski is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Swagger to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Swagger shrugs it off.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Przemyslaw Lignarski just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Lignarski jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Swagger walks away with a smile on his face. Lignarski gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Lignarski shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Swagger is trying to defend but Lignarski finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Lignarski is looking to take a break and control but Swagger is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Swagger bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lignarski's guard.

Lignarski scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Lignarski dives in and grabs Swagger's left leg, looking for a takedown. Swagger pushes down on Lignarski's head and hops out.

Swagger rushes Lignarski and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Lignarski tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Swagger smiles and moves away.

Lignarski tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Swagger just stands there and leans against the cage.

Lignarski breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Lignarski fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Swagger sprawls well initially but Lignarski persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Lignarski is taking a breather. Swagger says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Swagger wants to control but Lignarski is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Przemyslaw Lignarski overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Swagger tries to roll over but Lignarski keeps him under control.
