The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Midgard.
Midgard looks for a takedown but Lashley sprawls well.

Lashley gets the takedown into side control.
Midgard regains half guard.
Lashley missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Midgard regains full guard. Nicely done.

Midgard is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lashley defends well.

Lashley tries to hold on but Midgard postures up.
Midgard mounts Lashley! Really nice guard pass there!
Midgard takes Lashley's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Lashley is in trouble.

Midgard is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Lashley is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Midgard is not going to allow Lashley to sit and survive in this position.
Lashley can't escape the position.
Lashley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Midgard on the ground.

Midgard is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Lashley is defending well though. Midgard let's go of the attempt for now.
