Rutten kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is El Guapo Likes to Dance. This should be a great matchup!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rutten throws a right and a left that Smith avoids nicely.

Smith dives in and grabs Rutten's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rutten pushes down on Smith's head and hops out.

Rutten throws a sloppy head kick and Smith moves out of range easily.
Rutten is breathing heavily.
Smith dodges the punch combination from Rutten.
Rutten tries a head kick but it misses.
Smith takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Smith feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Smith fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rutten, pushing him back against the cage.
