PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lawrence Wong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trapezius Milkington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Trapezius Milkington was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lawrence Wong!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Trapezius Milkington!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wong fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Milkington avoids it really well and circles away.

Wong drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wong has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Wong tries to free his leg and advance position but Milkington is retaining full guard.

Wong avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Wong trying to control but Milkington is working from the bottom.

Wong postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Milkington is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Wong, into his guard.
Wong doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Wong working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Milkington doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Milkington manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Milkington looking to sit in guard and control but Wong gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Milkington thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Milkington looking for a sweep. Not yet Milkington, not yet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Wong looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Milkington!

Wong jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Milkington is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Milkington and Wong has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Milkington tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Wong wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Milkington is not content to let Wong control the position.
Milkington is looking for a sweep.

Wong goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Milkington has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Wong but great work by Milkington.
Wong is not content to let Milkington control the position.
Wong is looking to reverse the position.

Milkington advances nicely into full mount.
Milkington raining down shots from the mount!
Milkington landing strikes, looking to finish!
Wong is desperately trying to improve his position but Milkington has a good base and remains in mount.
Milkington with a couple of short strikes.
Milkington looking to control but Wong is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Wong can't escape the position.
Milkington looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Milkington scoring with strikes but Wong is staying in there.
Milkington lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Wong hang on?
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Wong is bucking up trying to escape but Milkington cracks him with another couple of good strikes.


Wong is rocked!
Wong is trying desperately to improve position.
Oh Wong is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wong is breathing heavily.
Milkington landing strikes from the mount and Wong is in trouble!

A nice elbow there by Milkington.
Milkington postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Wong badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Milkington around the waist but Milkington pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Milkington is the winner by TKO! Milkington jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Trapezius Milkington!
Trapezius Milkington is the new heavyweight champion!
