PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Peter Crosby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dante Lucien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lucien comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Kiss - All Hell's Breaking Loose kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crosby closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Crosby fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lucien, pushing him back against the cage.
Lucien fails to pull guard.
Lucien tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Crosby smiles and moves away.
Lucien ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Crosby is looking to clinch.
Crosby looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lucien is fending him off so far but Crosby persists. Nope, Lucien circles away and we're back to standing.
Lucien rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Crosby moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Crosby shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Crosby was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Lucien is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Lucien gets his hands free as Crosby looks to control.

Let's hope that Lucien has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Lucien has the hooks in. Crosby is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dante Lucien dominated that round.

Lucien scores with the left hand. Crosby knows he should have avoided that one.
Crosby tries for a takedown but Lucien sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Crosby moves into range and clinches up with Lucien.
Crosby wants to break the clinch but can't.
Lucien tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Crosby just stands there and leans against the cage.

Crosby has clasped his hands together around Lucien's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Lucien parries the strikes from Crosby easily there. Crosby is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Lucien to escape.
Lucien manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Crosby stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lucien swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lucien passes Crosby's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Lucien perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Crosby wants to control the action here but instead Lucien manages to pass to full mount!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Crosby tries to control the position but Lucien now has his back.
Lucien lands a shot to the body.
I really don't envy Crosby right now.
Lucien has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Crosby's body.

Lucien is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Crosby is defending well though. Lucien let's go of the attempt for now.

Dante Lucien showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Lucien seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Crosby seems to have got his legs back now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lucien slows the pace down in half guard.

Despite being in the dominant position, Dante Lucien just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
