The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Gailis as Kruschev shoots in.
Kruschev looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gailis is fending him off so far but Kruschev persists. Nope, Gailis circles away and we're back to standing.

Kruschev gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Kruschev has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Gailis is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Ainars Gailis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oleg Kruschev.

Kruschev pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Kruschev clinches up with Gailis and pushes him back against the cage.
Gailis is trying to break the clinch but Kruschev is controlling him.
Kruschev is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Gailis pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Kruschev tries to score a body lock takedown but Gailis shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
A frustrated look appears on Gailis's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Kruschev has hold of one of Gailis's legs. Gailis is fighting the takedown attempt but Kruschev gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Gailis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Gailis is looking to stand up but Kruschev isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kruschev throws a strike but Gailis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Gailis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kruschev on the ground.

Kruschev shoots for a double leg takedown but Gailis sprawls well. He's pushed Kruschev's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Kruschev is rocked!
Kruschev loses concentration momentarily and Gailis pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Kruschev crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Gailis finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
