The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marques misses with a hook. Hill ducked under it nicely.
Hill shoots in but Marques avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hill keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Marques gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hill to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Despite being in the dominant position, Victor Marques just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hill escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Marques gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Let's hope that Marques has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Hill will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Well Marques has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
