Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tix Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ru Born (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tix Pain has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tix Pain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ru Born!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Born moves into the clinch.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Born.

Born manages to break the clinch.
Pain looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Pain showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Born.
Born is looking to clinch.

Born gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Pain managing to block the knees to the body from Born.

Born decides to pull guard.
Pain could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Pain wants to control from the top but Born keeps moving.
Pain stands and throws Born's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Born is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Pain has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Pain is trying to get an arm triangle but Born is defending well.

Pain is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Born has escaped the position, nice work there.

Pain tries for a kimura but Born is defending well.

Pain wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Born, who protects the arm well.
Born manages to get back to half guard.

Pain is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Born has managed to free his arm - good work.
Pain stops Born from getting back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Pain is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Pain wants to control but Born is keeping him busy.

Pain wants to work for an arm triangle but Born is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Pain is breathing heavily.
Pain is keen to just control but Born is a slippery customer.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Born misses with a takedown attempt

so Pain counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Pain is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Born is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Born has escaped and now he's on top!
Pain is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Born wants to control from the top but Pain keeps moving.

Born thows a big elbow that misses.
Born really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pain. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Born drops back looking for a leg! Pain is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pain manages to kick Born off! Born jumps back into Pain's guard.
Pain lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Born!
Pain trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Pain looking for a guillotine from mount but Born is having none of it.

Pain working for a submission but Born is keeping him at bay.

Pain is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Born is surviving well by controlling Pain's body position as best he can.

Pain has hold of Born's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Born manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Born is looking to get to half guard.

Pain with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pain with a poor takedown

and Born counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Born.

Pain has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Born can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Pain manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Born manages to get himself to full guard.
Pain will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Pain wants to pass the guard but Born is keeping the position.
Pain is working hard here to advance position.

Pain has gone for a leg lock! Born slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pain's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Born wants to control from the top but Pain keeps moving.
Born might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Pain kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Pain is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Born must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Pain has control of Born's left arm, preventing Born from doing any damage.
Pain wants to sweep but no luck.
Born wants to control from the top but Pain keeps moving.
Born is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Born distracts Pain with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Pain is looking for a triangle but Born pushes his legs off easily.
Pain controlling Born's posture.
Pain has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Pain is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Born is controlling him.
Pain is trying to keep Born in close.
Born postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Pain looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Pain has his foot on Born's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Born works his way back into a safe position though.

Born drops back looking for a leg! Pain is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pain manages to kick Born off! Born jumps back into Pain's guard.
Pain tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Pain keeping moving, preventing Born from controlling successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Pain shoots and misses

and Born counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Born is working for a kimura but Pain is defending it quite comfortably.
Pain wants to get back to his feet.
Pain is concentrating on defense, preventing Born from advancing position.

Pain is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Born pulls his head out easily.
Pain trying to hold on to Born's head to control him but Born postures up.
Born working Pain over with strikes.
Born is trying to control the action in half guard but Pain is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Pain shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Born pinned against the cage. Born gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tix Pain. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Pain shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Born defends it nicely.
Pain dodges the punch combination from Born.
Tix Pain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pain fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Born avoids it really well and circles away.
Born tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pain swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Pain closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Pain is trying to control. Born wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Born pushes Pain off looking to stand but Pain dives back in and keeps control.

Born is defending against the submission attempts here by Pain.

Pain is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Born doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pain.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ru Born showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Born doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Pain counters with a nice double leg into side control. Born won't be happy with that.

Pain has hold of Born's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Born seems comfortable defending it but Pain has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Born is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Born is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Pain couldn't care less - he's delighted!
