Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cotterell attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Randall shoots for a takedown but Cotterell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Randall swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Randall tries to clinch but Cotterell moves out of range.
Cotterell moves in looking to clinch but Randall pushes him off.

Cotterell shoots in and drives through. Randall sprawls well.

Cotterell goes for a takedown in the clinch but Randall prevents it.

Randall has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Cotterell uses from the top position.
Cotterell controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Randall is on top in guard.
Randall wants to get up but he can't break Cotterell's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cotterell can do anything to dispel that myth.

Cotterell wants to sweep but no luck.

Randall sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Cotterell's guard.
Randall will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Randall wants to take a breather but Cotterell is having none of it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Cotterell shoots in for a takedown but Randall shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Randall shoots for a double leg takedown but Cotterell sprawls well. He's pushed Randall's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Randall looks to land a body kick but Cotterell moved away.
Cotterell will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Randall misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Cotterell is thwarting Randall's attempts to control the position.
Cotterell thows a huge punch but Randall dodges it nicely.
Randall is pressing down on Cotterell's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Randall is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cotterell is aware though and is defending well.

Randall has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cotterell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Cotterell bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Randall prevents Cotterell from moving into mount.

Randall tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cotterell wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Marcus Randall is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cotterell shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Randall sprawls well. Randall wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cotterell gets slowly back to his feet.
Cotterell throws a head kick but Randall moves out of range.
Cotterell fails with an attempt to clinch.
Cotterell dives in and grabs Randall's left leg, looking for a takedown. Randall pushes down on Cotterell's head and hops out.
Randall shoots in and drives through. Cotterell sprawls well.
Horrible takedown by Cotterell or perhaps it was just good defense by Randall which made him look bad.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Randall throws a looping overhand right but Cotterell ducks down to avoid it.

Cotterell connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Randall! He's out on his feet! Cotterell rushes in and drops Randall with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
