Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brandon Phillips!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Jonathan Paton and Anthony Taglia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kalir shoots in and bounces Phillips off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Kalir's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Kalir slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Phillips is pushing Kalir's head away, looking to escape. Kalir manages to hold on to the position though.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Kalir is looking to take a break and control but Phillips is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kalir grinds an elbow into Phillips's temple.
Phillips is looking to reverse the position.

Kalir has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kalir lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Phillips down.
Kalir connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Phillips some visible discomfort.
Phillips gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kalir is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Phillips can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Phillips is squirming around, avoiding Kalir's attempts to control the action.

Phillips is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kalir lands a big shot there that rocks Phillips but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kalir postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Phillips looks a forlorn figure.

Kalir postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Phillips out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Kalir goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
