Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dave Tiernan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Asto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Asto has chosen Lollipop remix(lil wayne) as his entrance music. Charlie Asto is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dave Tiernan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charlie Asto!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Anthony Taglia and Bruno Lombardi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asto shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tiernan but Tiernan pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Asto drives through and clinches with Tiernan against the cage.
Asto tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tiernan smiles and moves away.
Asto takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

and Asto counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Tiernan wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Tiernan has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Asto has passed into side control.
Tiernan is pushing Asto's head away, looking to escape. Asto manages to hold on to the position though.

Asto decides to stand back up. Asto steps back and let's Tiernan get back to his feet.
Tiernan darts in trying to clinch

and Asto counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Tiernan looking for a sweep. Not yet Tiernan, not yet.
Tiernan is breathing heavily.
Asto advances position into side control!

Asto decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Tiernan misses with a takedown attempt

and Asto counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Asto's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Tiernan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Asto with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Charlie Asto dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Asto keeps the fight on the outside.

and Tiernan counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Asto!

Despite being in the dominant position, Charlie Asto just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dave Tiernan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charlie Asto.
Asto tries to score a body lock takedown but Tiernan shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Tiernan wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Asto has him pressed against the cage.

Tiernan turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Tiernan decides to stand up, so the ref orders Asto to his feet.

Asto tries for a takedown but Tiernan circles away easily

and Tiernan counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Asto!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Tiernan trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Asto tries to hold on but Tiernan postures up.
Tiernan unloads with some shots from mount but Asto bucks and avoids them well.
Tiernan thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Asto is looking to improve his position but Tiernan isn't that keen on the idea.
Charlie Asto has got the better of the ground game so far.
Tiernan wants to control the action but instead Asto gets a body lock and reverses into Tiernan's guard! Nice work!
Asto slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Tiernan doesn't succeed with the takedown

so Asto counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Tiernan is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Asto slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Asto gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Asto misses with a low kick as Tiernan jumps back.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Asto.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Asto changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tiernan tries to avoid it but Asto manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tiernan to the ground. Tiernan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Asto tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Tiernan counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dave Tiernan dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Tiernan wants to control but Asto is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Tiernan tries to roll over but Asto keeps him under control.

Asto decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Asto shoots in and bounces Tiernan off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Asto decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Tiernan, up you get!

Asto closes the distance and pushes Tiernan back into the cage.

Asto decides to pull guard.
Tiernan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Asto swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Asto wants to sweep here but Tiernan controlling him for the moment.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Tiernan working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tiernan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Asto swivels though and keeps the full guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Asto holds on and takes a little breather.
Asto wants to sweep but no luck.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Asto pulls Tiernan in close to prevent any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Tiernan stands up from Asto's guard - Tiernan perhaps looking for a knockout.

and Tiernan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Asto keeps control of the position for the meantime.

And that's the end of the fight!
Charlie Asto comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Asto has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
