Samoth is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Judas Priest - Painkiller. Frito Bandito has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Ren Mimura and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Samoth tries to land a leg kick but Bandito saw it coming and moves away.
Bandito throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Samoth.
Samoth connects with a crisp jab.

Samoth clinches.
Samoth lands with a light punch inside.
Samoth tries to pull guard but Bandito holds him up against the cage and eventually Samoth drops back down to his feet.
The referee calls for Bandito to work.
Bandito wants to break the clinch but can't.
Samoth looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Samoth works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Samoth trying to control but Bandito is working from the bottom.
Samoth is stalling in the full guard.
Bandito keeping full guard, as Samoth tries to pass.
Bandito can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Samoth controls the pace.
Bandito knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Samoth on the ground.

Bandito is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Samoth pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bandito is keeping the position for now.
Samoth trying to control the position from guard on top but Bandito is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bandito looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Bandito misses the shot to the body.
Samoth looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Bandito moves out of range of the leg kick from Samoth.
Samoth throws a hook but Bandito blocks it.
Samoth misses with a looping right.
Samoth fails in his attempt to clinch.
Bandito connects with a right hand. Samoth shakes it off.

Bandito lands a left and a right that send Samoth crashing to the mat, dazed. Bandito thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Mikael Samoth has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bandito lands a big uppercut and Samoth crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Samoth looks OK. Bandito waves Samoth back to his feet!

Samoth is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Samoth walks straight into a right hand from Bandito - that's dropped him! Bandito jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Samoth from any more punishment! Samoth complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
