Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aku Desirkui (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanchez comes to the cage accompanied by Sick Puppies-Youre going down. Hugo Sanchez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanchez fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Desirkui sprawls well initially but Sanchez persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

It looks like Aku Desirkui has been cut.
Sanchez wants to pass to mount but Desirkui is defending the position.
Desirkui has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sanchez is working away from the top position though.
Sanchez tries to pass the half guard into mount. Desirkui knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Desirkui is looking to escape.
Sanchez wants to free his trapped foot but Desirkui is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Desirkui is staying active underneath Sanchez, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Desirkui lands a head kick. Sanchez smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

It looks like Hugo Sanchez has been cut.

Sanchez shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Desirkui wants to control but Sanchez is keeping busy.

Sanchez lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Sanchez is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Desirkui pushes Sanchez off looking to stand but Sanchez dives back in and keeps control.
Desirkui is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Desirkui wants to stand and escape but Sanchez is having none of it.

Desirkui pulls Sanchez in to control the position.

Desirkui escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sanchez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Sanchez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Desirkui works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Desirkui is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sanchez is controlling him.
Sanchez postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Sanchez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Sanchez seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Sanchez stops Desirkui from getting back to his feet.
Sanchez working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Sanchez wants to free his trapped foot but Desirkui is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Sanchez lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sanchez throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Desirkui shoots for a takedown but Sanchez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Sanchez is landing with some decent strikes but Desirkui is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Desirkui takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Sanchez's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
