The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rilley scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Rilley lets loose with a powerful body kick. Spackman will feel that in the morning.
Rilley tries to clinch up.
Spackman shoots in for a takedown but Rilley shows good takedown defense.

Spackman gets a takedown into half guard.

Spackman is looking for a kimura here.
Spackman looks gassed!
Spackman is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Rilley wants to stand and escape but Spackman is having none of it.
Spackman trying to control but Rilley is working from the bottom.

Spackman looking to pass the guard.
Spackman works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Spackman trying to pass the guard but Rilley defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rilley wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Spackman moves nicely into side control.

You can see the frustration on Rilley's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Spackman goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Rilley rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Spackman's guard! Nice work there by Rilley!
Rilley wanted to stand there but Spackman had control of the position.

Spackman looking for a guillotine here but Rilley defends easily.

Spackman looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rilley just content to control the position.
Spackman struggling a bit here.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Rilley tries a head kick but it misses.
Rilley throws a right hand that Spackman ducks under and follows up with a left that Spackman also avoids with ease.
Rilley throws a leg kick but Spackman moved away.

Spackman shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Spackman was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Spackman seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Rilley is holding on tight.

Spackman moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Rilley has worked his arm free - good work by Rilley!

Spackman has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Rilley is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Spackman yanks on the arm and Rilley is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Spackman.
