The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
kurkela takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
A right-left combo lands from Saari.
Saari fails in his attempt to clinch.
kurkela really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Saari smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
kurkela shoots for a takedown but Saari saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

kurkela moves into the clinch.
Saari wants to get back to striking at distance but kurkela won't allow it.
kurkela lands an elbow inside that Saari shrugs off.

Saari slaps away a takedown attempt from kurkela, before circling back to the center of the mat.
No joy there for Saari, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
kurkela's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and kurkela duly obliges.
Saari lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Saari.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

kurkela shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Saari sprawls well. Saari wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. kurkela gets slowly back to his feet.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for kurkela. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Saari stalks kurkela and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into kurkela's face. kurkela staggers backwards, shaken.

Saari doesn't manage to clinch there - kurkela circles away.
Oh kurkela is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Saari rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but kurkela moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
kurkela seems to have got his legs back now.
Saari fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Saari drops kurkela with a beautiful combination! kurkela stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Saari is looking for the KO!

Saari is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! kurkela hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
