Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A kick lands to the mid section there for Mendes.
Kontos throws a series of punches but Mendes avoids them all with ease.

Kontos changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mendes looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Mendes is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kontos's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Kontos looks to land a strike but Mendes avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Mendes utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kontos slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Kontos cracks Mendes with a big right hand but Mendes just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Mendes regains half guard, as Kontos was trying to land strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kontos looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Mendes moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kontos trying to control the position from guard on top but Mendes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kontos has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Mendes to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Kontos is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Mendes pulls down on the head and he's put Kontos to sleep! This one is all over!
