PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Fox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bimbo Slide (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fox comes to the cage accompanied by Cant Be Touched by Roy Jones Jr.. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brian Fox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bimbo Slide!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fox swinging wildly here.
Slide misses with a leg kick.
Fox dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Slide is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Fox.


It looks like Bimbo Slide has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Fox tries to score a power double leg takedown but Slide sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fox somewhat.
Slide falls off balance throwing a combination
and Fox connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Slide misses with a combination
and Fox counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


That has opened up Bimbo Slide's cut even more.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fox scores with a jab to the body.
Slide looks gassed!
Slide throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fox sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Fox looks to land a combination but Slide avoids it well.
Slide lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Fox lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Slide misses with a double jab
and Fox counters with a leg kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Fox closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fox lands in his opponent's guard.

Fox decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Slide, up you get!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fox lands a lovely overhand right.
Slide lands with a thumping leg kick.
Slide tries to bum rush Fox with a series of wild strikes but Fox uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Slide does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Fox throws a right and a left that both miss.
Slide moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Fox throws a big shot that misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Slide tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Fox is able to avoid easily.
Slide throws a jab but it's blocked by Fox.
Slide swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Fox counters with a straight right hand.


The cut above Bimbo Slide's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Fox tries to close the distance and clinch but Slide swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Slide tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fox was well out of range. Poor timing from Slide.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brian Fox dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Bimbo Slide's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


A punch combination from Slide misses.
Slide throws a quick inside leg kick.
Slide keeps the fight on the outside.
Slide lands a head kick!
Slide misses with a low kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A telegraphed right hand from Slide misses the target.
Slide misses with a hook. Fox ducked under it nicely.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Slide turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Slide throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fox sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Slide fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Fox, pushing him back against the cage.

Slide escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Slide bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Fox shoots in but no luck this time.
Slide jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Bimbo Slide seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Some bone on bone action there as Fox checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Fox misses with a few strikes there.
Brian Fox is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A punch combination from Slide misses.
Fox lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Slide circles away quickly and effectively.
Slide throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Fox takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Fox rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Slide moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Slide falls off balance throwing a combination
and Fox counters with a lovely straight right hand!
A bone on bone clash there as Fox blocks the leg kick.
A punch combination from Slide misses.
Fox throws a hook but Slide blocks it.
Slide finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Fox looks to land a combination but Slide avoids it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fox looks to land a right hand but Slide moved out of range.
Slide fails to land the takedown.
A slow jab from Fox misses its intended target.
Slide throws a series of punches but Fox avoids them all with ease.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Slide connects with a jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bimbo Slide showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Slide throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Fox counters with a crisp one two that drops Slide! Fox thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Slide to his feet! Slide is in big trouble!
Fox leaves Slide with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A decent looking cross lands there for Fox.


Bimbo Slide's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Bimbo Slide's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Brian Fox!
