Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ben Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Hallman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hallman comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Pantera - The Sleep kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hallman shoots in but Franklin avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hallman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Franklin tries to close the distance and clinch but Hallman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Franklin obliges.
Hallman is pressed up against the cage. Franklin has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hallman down to the mat. Hallman avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Hallman throws a body kick the misses
and Franklin counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Hallman is lucky that one didn't land flush.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Franklin has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hallman is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hallman sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Franklin is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

so Hallman counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Hallman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Hallman throws a big right hand that misses.
Franklin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hallman drops back looking for a leg! Franklin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Franklin manages to kick Hallman off! Hallman jumps back into Franklin's guard.

Hallman is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Franklin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hallman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hallman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Franklin wants to clinch up but Hallman keeps it at a distance.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Hallman gets a takedown into half guard.

Hallman looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Hallman frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
