Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Drysdale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Obrien!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Kavanagh and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drysdale fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Obrien has his takedown stuffed

so Drysdale counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Obrien is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Obrien keeping moving, preventing Drysdale from controlling successfully.
Drysdale pushing down on Obrien's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Drysdale seems to be looking for submissions.

Drysdale wants to work for an arm triangle but Obrien is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Drysdale is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Obrien has managed to free his arm - good work.
Obrien gets full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Drysdale is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Obrien looking for a sweep. Not yet Obrien, not yet.
Obrien is controlling Drysdale's posture.

Drysdale pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Obrien is keeping the position for now.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Obrien can do anything to dispel that myth.
Obrien looking to hit a scissor sweep but Drysdale is one step ahead there.
Obrien is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Drysdale looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Obrien!
Obrien is looking to improve his position but Drysdale isn't that keen on the idea.
Obrien tries to hold on but Drysdale pushes him away.

Drysdale looking for a guillotine from mount but Obrien is having none of it.
Drysdale is breathing heavily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Obrien is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robert Drysdale dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Drysdale looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Drysdale has his foot on Obrien's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Obrien works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Obrien controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Obrien stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Drysdale swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Obrien pulls out of a head kick attempt.

and Obrien counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Obrien controls from within his opponent's guard.
Obrien trying to control the position from guard on top but Drysdale is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Obrien is sitting in close to Drysdale's body. Drysdale has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Obrien is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Obrien is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Drysdale.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Robert Drysdale!
